So, the day before yesterday on 13th September 2024, I had the pleasure of serving as film festival jury at Sharda University, Noida organised by Sharda school of media, film, and entertainment in collaboration with CMS Vatavaran, an environment and wildlife film festival & forum organised this international film festival focusing on wildlife, environment and sustainability.
A day full of activity with eminent figures as Co-jury and Co -panelist, along with interesting sessions by seasoned international filmmakers and amazing cultural performances by the students, the festival had great energy.
Ms Carolene Lebresco, a peabody winning producer who has spent over 18 years at Sundance took an in depth class on documentary film making. On the panel with me were Senior Sceintist and Head, Sceince Films Division, Dr. Nimish Kapoor, Deputy Director, CMS Vatavaran, Sabyasachi Bharti, Ms. Hem Saroya, anchor at WION TV.
Many Congratulations to Prof. Ritu Sood, Convener and super energetic Prof. Mehak Jonjua, Co Convener. The unique style of moderating the discussion by Prof. Rashid Hashmi took me by surprise 😊
The sessions were, I’m sure, as much enlightening for the students as they were for me, even though I’m a professional.
With incessant rains wrecking havoc in Delhi and across India, with incidents of alligators landing up in houses due to overflowing rivers becoming commonplace and rising pollution levels affecting lifespans of Delhi (and Indian) residents, the conversation around sustainable growth and climate change is the need of this hour.
