It was great to be back at the vivacious campus of Marwah Studios, International Journalism Centre and AAFT, Asian Academy of Film & Television for their 14th Global Festival of Journalism.

The lecture was about something I deeply believe in — that cinema, when rooted in truth, becomes more than art.
In public health and social justice work, I’ve seen how reports often remain unread. But when a story is visual, human, and emotionally grounded — people respond differently. We looked at films that influence discourse on consent, caste, climate change, wrongful convictions, and corporate accountability.
What stayed with me most was the discussion with students about responsibility. Storytelling carries power. And power demands ethics.

Grateful for the questions, the engagement, and the possibility that some of these young filmmakers will choose impact over noise.

Sharing few pictures with students, their dean Prof. Dr. Shivani Daape and Chairman Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
