It was great interacting with the students of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, about diseases (Lymphatic Filariasis and Visceral Leishmaniasis) endemic to Uttar Pradesh.

The enthusiasm of students and motivating words from Vice Chancellor Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi and Director, Mahamana Institute of Hindi Journalism Prof. Nagendra Kumar Singh made it a memorable experience for me.

Health expert from World Health Organization Dr. Manjeet Singh Chaudhary’s session covering the technical aspects of the diseases followed by field expert sessions by Dr. Rajkumari Daryana, Mr. Firoze Alum and Mr. Ranpal Singh gave the students an opportunity to learn about the diseases, their prevention, and the Government of India’s efforts in eliminating these debilitating diseases.
